Sally Johnson

Co-founder / Creative Director

Previously a bona-fide singer-songwriter and media composer, Sally stowed her guitar in favour of another kind of storytelling. Her love of immersive games was forged on a BBC Acorn computer, but these days she crafts the look and feel of the worlds SANDBOXX creates.

She is all about cooking, followed by lots of eating, and walking the wilderness with her wife, Amelia and their little terrier, Che.

Favourite game: “Uncharted”

Sam Beavis

Co-founder / Game Design Director

Sam's brain was seemingly built for game-making. He can, and often does, talk with equal enthusiasm about script writing, animation and node graphs.

He knows far too many computer programs for his own good and over half of his ideas involve space or time travel. His passions include museum visits, baseball and Bruce Springsteen.

Favourite game: “Sensible Soccer” (specifically, being Eric Cantona in Sensible Soccer).

Dog / Head of Recruitment

Che studied human psychology and is so highly skilled, he can make people do anything he wants just by showing them his face.

Although not the hardest worker at SANDBOXX, Che excels at vetting collaborators and clients, as well as keeping the studio humble with daily reminders that he is the most important one.

Favourite game: "Call of Duty: Squirrel Ops"
